| Ah, bouncing off those walls will help me, otherwise i will have to drive backwards i suppose, but driving backwards near those slopes seems to dangerous. Will take the highlift also, can always lift the car and set it aside. I am sure i get on top Jaap | |

| Yeah, but don't forget Fred's was articulated, whereas Jaap's "Dutch Barge" is nearly as long as that coach they used in the Italian Job (the real 1969 film, not that crappy 2003 remake), and we all know where that ended up!!! | |

| Well I've been there, done that. It was a hell of a lot of work getting up there. Marvellous track it was. 3 Hairpins we could't make in one time, the rest of them within 1 or 2 inches to the wall. Those guys from Topgear are right, one of the best roads there is | |

| Yep Deserves an explanation. Going up i found myself facing a car coming down. The driver obviously didn't know the rules of the mountains, anyway he didn't give way. I had to back up. After that engine suffured of a lack of oxigen i suppose, it did't come back at turbopower. Not trusting a Landrover handbrake, i decided to park the car gently against the wall. After a little playing with the throttle engine started to run smoothly again. And of we were. | |

| Don't you have a handbrake for the corners? | |

| There are few Land Rovers with a handbrake that actually works for longer than the MOT test as far as I can tell !! That's one reason why Lenny keeps rolling along .... | |

As I stated in the thread I didn't trust the handbrake, as no landydriver should. Not even the discbrake.

| I agree Cardan. When parking on a slope I always turn the wheels so in the event of failure the vehicle would roll into a wall rather than over the edge.
Never rely totally on the hand brake.

| It's a Land Rover thing !
They leak oil all over your drive They then pass MOT with fixed handbrake
THEN just when you think its safe one of them rolls over the corner of your son's tent at 4am on the first night of last years Landy Rally.
Why do we have them ?
WE LOVE THEM and even give them names !!
From the home of Lenny and Pinky

| Pinky definitely does that ! We had a brand new drive when we first moved into this house although you wouldn't believe it now. We have plenty of oil, steering fluid, not to mention yellow paint stains on the drive. Mind you we have lived here since Kieran was 11 weeks old ! | |

| Stains since he was 11 weeks old ... couldn't he crawl to the loo in time? Not a pretty thought. | |

| Tom you've forgotten what 11 week old babies do ! They sleep, wake up shout feed me, want a clean nappy and then back to sleep again. Not much time for crawling at that age ! Although he soon made up for it ! | |
