| Why thank you Sylvia, and thanks for the card which arrived today. Don't normally do Christmas cards, BAH HUMBUG an' all that, but I have to say yours was a cracker. Sums it up perfectly. For those unenlightened out there ...
It was of a big chunky polar bear with his head firmly buried in the snow, with the overhead caption,
"Is Christmas over yet?"
Excellent! | |

I'll spare you the gory details, but suffice to say that one of his fingers was not very well repaired after his accident, and also not corrected by the NHS last year. The result being a trip to the local hospital one evening before Christmas, and day surgery the next day courtesy of the German health service. Length of wait in the casualty department? 10 mins!! Can't pick his nose now!

| Oh right, didn't realise you'd be back so soon. That means yet another ferry in May - don't you just love 'em?
What's the snow like in Soest (near Dortmund who don't know), been out playing?

| we haven't had much really - only about 4 inches. and its rubbish for making snowmen. Only playing we've done is on a sled (Derek got it for Christmas) at a local winter resort. No off roading allowed in Germany unless you go to an expensive off road site! | |
