| http://www.uk4x4centre.co.uk/ are friends of Landy Rally.
http://www.uk4x4centre.co.uk/cb-radio-4x4/cb-starter-packs/cat_28.html for their Bundles - CB, coax, plugs, mount and whip.
Midland are well known, and good for most vehicle use. Very important: Must be UK and CE (Euro) channels for use on Landy Rally.

| I'll answer for him. Skint in 2008 (wife to support), skint in 2009 (wife and baby to support) and yet they - all three of them - entered prepared for the worst. Extremely brave by both of them but ultimately foolhardy as pooing-machines* and long distances don't really go together. * I'm referring to 6 month old Lucas, not Andybloke! | |

| Yeah, co-driver was a bit too pregnant for 2008, and baby was a bit too sick for 2009. Lucas didn't want to sleep in the landy, and kept being sick in his bed, but he got to see france, holland, germany and belgium, and seemed to quite enjoy bruges and the beach at sangatte on the way back.

| Wot? Northampton down to North London is a breeze, even for a Dinky toy like yours! Gotta get used to doing more than ten miles in a day you know. Ask Jan at uk4x4centre nicely and I'm sure he will help you out. | |

If there's a large enough hole to get the plug on the end of the wire through somewhere, then fitting is usually very easy. Make sure that the aerial mount has a good ground directly to the roofrack/roof, that the power connector takes a short route to the battery, and it should all 'just work'. Number 1 problem with CB's in 4x4's is aerial mount not connected directly to metal. Radio waves are strange things, and the wiring behaves nothing like any other wiring in the vehicle.

| It could be fixed to the windscreen upright surely? Then again maybe the upright is too thin so would foul on the door. There's no choice mate, you'll have to install a full external roll cage - problem solved! | |

If there's no frame to attach a truck mirror mount to, go for the highest bit of metalwork that you can get bolts into or clamps around... Or a length of 1inch aluminium (tv aerial) pole securely attached low down, extending up to almost the highest point would probably be pretty good for bolting a mount to, too.

I did see an SJ with a cb areail bolted onto the bonnett. Maybe that will work for me
