| I've only just realised Manby's a long weekend this year.
Who's planning on being there for which days?

| Well, it was nice to see the Johnson clan again, and Slow'n'Dirty Adam, Andy from DDRLC and BJ. Weather was normal for Manby - windy and occasionally wet. Beertent was good and very busy in the evenings, but despite not spending very long in there, we managed to get trade discount on beers, Kieran is producing their new staff t-shirts, and I'm hopefully meeting up with the owners in a couple of weeks to collect some taps, pipework and a bar chiller. Not terribly busy on the trade stand front - I found several of the regular traders on Monday at a steam rally along with a lot of the Yorks 4x4 Response and some ex-military landrover clubs, and passed some of the Sneaky Beaky vehicles on the way home on Sunday morning! The central arena was a bit more interesting this year - firstly, Jerry Thurston didn't appear to be there, so we didn't have to endure 30 minute lectures on winch cable safety every 2 hours over the PA, and they'd dug it up rather than just having a boring flat rectangle of grass with a twist-off ramp. | |

You missed the worst of the weather and the air ambulance coming to collect someone who had his leg broken by a WINCH cable. and the downpour which found me hiding in the beer tent for 1/2 hour ! After all that the wind changed direction so it was straight into the stand causing the tent to blow over almost taking James with it ! He grabbed onto it and flew out of his chair ! It was quite funny once I'd realised he wasn't hurt ! We ended up with Kieran and I closing the doors on the trailer as we couldn't keep the vinyl in one place !
It was good to meet up with you all again.

Doh! Now they're bound to invite Thurston back! I did drive through three pretty big storms on the way back - if one of those hit you, I'm not surprised the tent tried to take off!

| Ah, but Landy Rally weather is normally gorgeous. True it can wet and windy leading up to the event, but during the actual event it always seems to be good. Let's hope the trend continues. | |

| Seems we get lucky Tom, After 6 weeks of autumn like weather, the forecasts are looking good for the northern part of the Rally | |
