Apart from the FRIDAY mini-convoys for those camping at Gaydon, it appears we are now going to have a series of SUNDAY mini-convoys for those just attending the world record itself on Sunday 24th April 2011 - Easter Sunday.

Hey Guys, Happy new year to you all. Sorry about my silence but it has all been happening recently. I'm filling out my entry form for the H4H parade and was wondering if we were camping under the "landy rally" title and are there tent size regs? I now have a 14 month old step daughter.

Wey hey, Jay's back! Yep, just jot down somewhere Landy Rally Club and it'll get sorted. as long as you haven't got a marquee, there are no tent size restrictions.

Just in case you are unaware everyone ...

Landy Rally Club will have an area in the main Club Display Stand section, plus a Landy Rally Club area within the campsite.

Just what Bling is going to do with his roof tent is anybody's guess? De-camp from the campsite down to the Club Display Stand section in the mornings? I suppose he will have to think along these lines as he certainly won't be able to enter the convoy with it erected ... or his tent!!! OooooeeeerrrrrMrs

So, to the latest news ...

Here’s something truly unique, something that has never been done before in 63 years.

The Heritage Motor Centre, the custodians of the first production Land Rover known to one and all as ‘Huey’ (registration HUE 166) have generously donated a ride in the front passenger seat of ‘Huey’ – at the very front of CONVOY for HEROES … and before you ask, no you can’t drive it!

This is how it will work …

Via an auction on the CONVOY for HEROES forum, you place an open bid for the ride in ‘Huey’ as it leads the attempt to break the world record on Sunday 24th April 2011 (Easter Sunday). Instructions can be found at http://h4hconvoy.myfreeforum.org/forum68.php

The auction will close on Wednesday April 20th at 6pm, thus giving the winning bidder a chance to find someone else to drive his or her own vehicle in the convoy.

To generate the maximum amount of cash, the auction is open to all-comers.

Alternatively, the winning bidder may elect to donate the seat to someone else as a present – a loved one, family member or a worthy individual perhaps, but remember this is a sixty plus year-old Land Rover so no airbags, seatbelts or padded bits. Passengers must be 12 years-old or older.

Bids will be updated daily between now and near the end of the auction, the last few hours will be updated hourly, the last 60 minutes shown as soon as they arrive.

… and the latest bid? Bling no less!

Have seen Trixie today and she's looking good with her new "Convoy for Heroes" Stickers.

Sadly the three legs of man flag had to go though as it had now become the 2 and a half legs of man ! Yoda needs a new flag ! (well its the closest I could get to a flag)

Finally got my finger out and posted off the Convoy 4 heroes stuff today, hope its not too late. Space saved! Only just in time I would say, as of yesterday there were only 20 spaces left out of the 350 limit.

Just sent in 8 entries for Bedworth Berts 4x4 Club (my local mob) and my own, so together with entries arriving in tomorrow's post I reckon that will make the declared limit of 350.

You will recall Yoda that back in 2004 our world record-establishing convoy of 260 vehicles represented a column of Land Rovers on the A43 dual-carriageway some 4 miles long.

This time there will be around 350 vehicles driving on Land Rover's test track behind Gaydon - a test facility that is only 3 miles long!!!

Should be interesting!
