| I thought there was a post somewhere about the barbecue at Val d’Isére ... can't find it.
What's the plan for that day? Is it evening or daytime? After or in-between road sections? Close to camping?

I don't have the letter, and only had a quick look on Friday. Didn't recall it mentioning times or place in the days route.

| Ah yes. It is 13:00 hours and includes all food and drink.
Don't think we will be drinking that much before off-roading.
Is it near the camping though? Could be really nice to be looked after for an evening.

Noooo. Food bad. Food should be used at most once a day, and followed by at least an hour of nothing at all.

| So what's the gen here?
I'm not a great lunch eater myself, but wouldn't want to be a party pooper standing just outside the marque, watching.
Are people generally signing up then?

| "I'm not a great lunch eater myself" Likewise. We'll sign up, only because it should save cooking at night (hopefully), whilst expanding the waistline ready for glass or two around the campfire, listening to the prophet Tom's calamitous stories. | |

| I'm the same as you in that I normally as I don't do big lunches, but I guess to break the routine for one day isn't a bad thing. BTW BJ, there are other sort of beverages other than the demon drink - at least that's what somebody told me once. I now ignore them.
Me personally, I don't think it's particularly cheap, but then again anything more than the price of a pork pie I wince. Head buried in the sand me when it comes to eating out. By all accounts this is a FRENCH BBQ, a "picnic" as they prefer to call it, so I suppose it'll be a bit more than a charred sausage with pink inners and a bit of limp lettuce and salad cream laughingly known by Brit establishments as a ‘side salad’. Reckon we’ll get the works. If not then like you I’ll want my money back!
Also, please bear in mind we’ll be turning up on Monday, not over the weekend, therefore to arrange something out of the ordinary like this is bound to cost a little more than the norm. Looking forward to it personally, again, it’s something very different from what we’re used to, and that’s precisely what it’s all about.

We love lunch, dinner, breakfast, any food is good, esp when someone else has gone to the trouble of preparing it for us!
Bring it on...
