£7.50/mb on 3G/GPRS. Make sure: a) Your contract is billed per byte, not by time, and b) Your blog update page has as few images as possible. Last year we pushed about 800k of GPS data (Every 20 seconds for most of the rally), but the twit that provided the sim had it set up for Voda's "Cheap Business Rate" which charged by the minute, not by the byte, so the phone bill was over £200, rather than the £5 had we been on PayAsYouGo. For the blog stuff, I turned images off in the browser, and never closed the page, so it didn't load £4 worth of web page every time I wanted to post an entry. There may be other provisions for internet, but I'm waiting to hear about that. | |

| Sorry chaps, you're talking gobledigook. Does that mean my carrier pigeon will make it over the Alps, Massif Central and the English Channel or not? Need to know otherwise Mr Pigeon will have to make alternative arrangements, - like hopping on a TGV to Paris, changing to a Eurostar and back though the tunnel to Waterloo? Even then he'll still have to jump on a commuter train down to Bournemouth. Decisions, decisions - computers/commuters - life is soooooo complicated these days for the technophobe! | |
