Just getting ready to head off to Abingdon, about to swap a wheel, as one's off balance, and it turns out some scrap metal theives stole my spare wheels this morning!

Had a look about after I posted that, and also lastnight when I got back from the show... They've also taken my spare motorbike engine, and the 22lb lump of iron it was chained to from behind the shed, 20M of armoured cable from under the shed, Reds seat harness anchor bar from under the shed and a couple of 2M lengths of 6mm aluminium angle that was hiding under a heap of drainpipes.

The bastards didn't take the pile of scrap metal, the twisted motorbike frame or powertools that are waiting to be recycled...

Did you know the police don't investigate thefts from skips?
A copper phoned me earlier, to tell me that. Then he said they wouldn't be investigating the theft of my wheels and engine, and that I didn't need to bother taking the DVD of CCTV footage into the police station.
I asked why, and it's apparently because they won't bother watching it.
I asked why, and it's apparently because they don't investigate thefts of rubbish.
I asked how he knew the engine was rubbish, and it's apparently because "ohI'msorryIdidn'treadthereportproperlyI'llphoneyoubacklater".

oh dear! IDIOTS, thats really bad, if you want a laugh, i was out today and south yorks police were inundated with calls from andybloke they had time to send several officers out in a mobile cctv unit to watch the centre of sheffield which is covered in cameras anyway...whats the point in that?? Evil or Very Mad

Better get back off my soapbox but letting the perpetrators get away with it really bugs me.

I've just received a list of local crime reports.... My wheels aren't on the list, but half an hour later, 200 yards north of here, a house was broken into and an 07 reg Audi Quattro was taken, too. Grrrr.
