| Hey all,
If I manage to finish re insulating my loft before tomorrow (and thus escape the wrath of mother) I'll be there. Gotta look at Roof Tents and water tanks!
Gonna be in west wales surfing on sat afternoon tho so its gonna be a bit of a round trip, guzzle guzzle on the diesel!

| Hope you are well covered up as that glass fibre insulating material can be extremely itchy. If not I don't your chances in a wet suit. It took some 10 baths later to get rid of my itchiness ... ain't good! Hopefully see you over there - noon at VentureOverland's stand. He sells roof tents BTW, may even do water tanks, and discounts for Landy Rally participants! | |

| Good event! Managed to start putting names to faces, same for the teams themselves - Richard Potts and his merry men/women, Dan White, plus others whose names I'm ashamed to say I can't remember (useless with names).
Another big bonus was my mate Wayne Fisher showed up. Known him for years, done umpteen off-road events together, top bloke. These days he and Captain Chaos (from this forum) compete in a Lada Riva on charity rallies around Europe - similar to Landy Rally only 100% tarmac. If you recall CC joined me as navigator on the recce for LR'08.
Now living near Bergerac, southwest France, it looks as if Wayne may well drive west to join us in Andorra during the Landy Rally, spend two days with us transversing the Pyrenees, after which he'll lead us back to his place. Here we'll camp overnight on his property. When he goes back in a few days he'll have a word with the local Mayor to lay something on in September with the locals. Sounds interesting! Worked well in Italy where we had a party or two with the owners and their friends. We'll see how this develops with Wayne. I do know he's after a cheap Fiat Panda 4x4, so if you come across one please let me know. I'll post in the WANTED forum section about this.

| I know we spoke about this a little yesterday Tom, but it sort of went in one ear and out' the other!
Now Im a bit more compuss mentus... thats excellent - another bit of variety to the proceedings and scope for interaction with the natives (or should that be locals!?!?!?).
As we all know thats paid great dividends with the guys in Italy, Calais and Holland so far!
Now all we need to the pound to get off its lazy ass and become worth something again!

| Yes, that would be nice. We had exchange rates so good for so long, it has now come as a bit of a bombshell. Bloody non-elected Brown!!! Normally couldn't be bothered by politics as I reckon they are all as bad as each other - as long as their nests are feathered okay - but I do object to having a Prime Minster that nobody has chosen. All apart from Blair of course in a cosy 'arrangement' before the last general election. "Don't worry Gordon, I'll stand again as they would never elect you. When the dust has settled I'll simply hand the reigns over to you". "But isn't that deceiptful Tony?" "Of course it is, but who can do anything to stop us?" "Great Tony" (much ass-licking at this point) "I'll pretend not to be interested in the PM gig up until you announce your retirement. Quite franly I'm amazed it's as easy as that". "Oh it is Gordon, it is". DISGUSTING!!! | |

| Don't even get me started on 'middle lane hogs'. Think I'll put my forward for the "Top 100 Most Moany Ol' Gits Show". Love also to be a guest on Room 101, plunging all those in the world to the bowels of oblivion. | |

Can you imagine him with a hangover in a bad mood, shotgun under arm screaming......................................... GET ORF MY LAND!!!! Not wishing to scare any entrants!!?

| You made me titter. Yes, a scary image indeed ... scary Wayne? He turned up at the Donny 4x4 Show on Sunday talking about buying a Fiat Panda 4x4 - 'cause it'll fit in his woods - or maybe a diesel Disco. Got a text today from him saying that he may have found a Disco "with a few extras" - sounds intriguing. Actually he was happy as a pig in the smelly stuff. Think he's been missing his off-roading and wants to play again. He met some of the Landy Rally guys, they weren't put off by him at all ... the ol' growler was smiling though. Miserable ol' git!!! Got your email BTW, just haven't bother replying yet.
