TeamTaff - Macmillan 4x4 Challenge 6th March

Mornin all - Thought I would update all and let you know that Tim & I will be be surfacing again and taking part in this years' Mac 4x4 which starts at Craven Arms (SY7 8DA - Britpart) Friday am 6th March and ends near Warrington on Sunday afternoon (Daresbury Park Hotel WA4 4BB) 8th March.

We will be in Tim's Welsh flagged Pajero; our start number is 13.

Tim was going to pull out as he has been made redundant. However, he tells me he'll be very gentle with the right foot in order to save some Euros ready for the 2009 Landy - if in gainful employment by then!!!

Well hello Keith & Tim - That's good news, about the fact you're having another crack at the Mac, not the redundancy part. Don't worry mate, "when one door closes" an' all that.

Yep, a light right foot should see you through. Rest assured that if you break the Paj that there's always my Rangie as a last resort ... or if you're fire-proficient and an auto electrician, you could always go in Pinky!!! So much choice!

Here, just thought. If Kieran can’t get his steed roadworthy, you could always lend him the Evo.

not enough lights horns and the paint works too shiney and it goes to fast and im scared of speeds faster than 65mph

pennys are tight but i think im in a good position for the time being, being a student n all, we are hoping that the range rover selling will pay for a £50 volvo 1991 from the almighty ebay

Good Luck with the Mac at the weekend. Wish I was going but they don't do 2 man one woman teams. Maybe some other time............

Anyway Keith your PajEvo is quite safe. ( The insurance company would see to that)

Pinky is nearly ready until Kieran gets in it again. and Lenny just needs a wash and he'd be ready for the off as well just in case Pinky has second thoughts.

Tim - sorry to hear about the job and good luck with finding a new one.

Kieran/Sylvia - I'm now a little more relaxed about Tom's perceived generosity! The PajEvo is safe.

Kieran - We'll see you at the start on Fri as we are overnighting in Tenbury at the house of an old schoolmate of mine (Yes - another oldie; we get everywhere!). And good luck for the event.

Good to see some Landy faces to chat with at the Mac and glad everyone seems to have got to the end.

Our side-lighting failed on the Paj just 10miles from Friday night's finish. 'I know a man who can' - in fact 4 of the AA boys who were in the event as support crews spent 30+ mins and identified a failed relay as well as a relay seemingly not used for anything. The latter was inserted into the failed unit's slot and off we went.

No further probs saw us 5th overall out of the 65 starters - we were happy but more importantly the overall Mac 4x4 fund raising now exceeds the half million; all all by 4x4ers.

Failed lights? Must have been the Evo being in close proximity to all those Land Rovers for three days. Seems Lucas (the Price of Darkness - not Andybloke's new ankle-biter) was in attendance, either that or Kieran leant on your bonnet. He has that effect on electrics you know?

Well done both of you - but then again Keith, after you displayed your navigational skills by somehow managing to get the "Get Lost Crew" to the finish of Landy Rally it really doesn't come as a huge surprise to see you well up the leader board.

Glad it went well and what a fantastic amount of money for an event to raise over the years
