My old landlord was a BMW driver, who complained to the dealership that the screen wash jets had stopped working - they helpfully didn't charge the standard BMW labour rates for putting more screenwash in the bottle.

Common sense I think its called, clearly the numpty's in those news reports hit every branch when falling out of the "bleedin' obvious" tree!

Don't know about you, but on a journey I have never driven before or not sure of, I always check the proposed SatNav route against an everyday road map. If it's more or less heading let's say South to North then that's okay, but if it suddenly veers East it doesn't take a genius to tell something is amiss. SatNav's are good ... to a degree.

Maybe it had been a 4x4, he would have ploughed through the fence, driven down the hill on the other side and escaped all the embarassment? Then again he could also be brown bread!

Yep, best blame the SatNav company.
