Landy Rally Club at LRO Show Peterborough 12-13 Sept 2009

So, the last proper show of the season is almost upon us - where has the summer gone?

Landy Rally Club will be having a Club Display Stand at the LRO Show Peterborough 12-13 Sept 2009, so with entrants pride 'n' joys all 'stickererd up', who wants to display their vehicle on the stand?

As usual it is limited space, first come first served and all that. So far it's:-

Fred and Tango 1 + Tango Tow
Kieran + Pinky
Myself and me blue Rangie

Any more?

I'll have a word with Mr DD and see if he will have Lenny ready by then.
However if there's an off road course we're going in yours this time !!

No way Pedro. All Landy Rally entrants are banned from the off-road course at Peterborough, including mine.

So, the latest about Peterborough.

At this rate I doubt very much if I will be there. The main reason is I have yet to complete the Road Book. It’s proving a lot more difficult than ever this year, probably because I’m trying desperately to iron out any bugs and glitches as in previous years. Okay, whilst I still can’t prevent them building new roundabouts between the recce in June and the run in September (as has happened before), but I can make the Road Book more descriptive and detailed.

Second, despite me supporting the LRO show at Billing in July (as opposed to the rival show LRM Newark), my request for a Landy Rally Club Stand at Peterborough fell on deaf ears. This got my heckles up so I told them to ********** (you can guess) stating that not only would I not be going to Peterborough, I would be supporting the LRM Newark show next summer and actively encourage others to do so! Loyalty counts for nothing with some people, so it’s time to make a stand.

However, as Bling, Lady V, Pete & Jamie, Fred & Geoff and others will be going to LRO Peterborough, I do have a meeting place. Enter Brendan of “Overlander4x4”. Here is his email to me the other day:-

Hi Tom,

We have met at a couple of shows this year on the VentureOverland stand.

Barbara and I have set up a new company 4x4overlander Ltd and will be at
Peterborough. Have noticed that Landy Rally is not on the exhibitors list.
If your members need a meet point/dump for their newly acquired
possessions or a rest/cup of tea etc they will find a welcome on our stand.

We have a 3 x 3 tent (besides main 3 x 6 m tent) as a garage clearance
tent, chill tent for us and visitors to chew fat about travelling etc.

A good decent bloke, I would suggest his is the place to head for as a focal point (Jon of VentureOverland won’t be at Peterborough either by the way – he’s got more important things on his plate at the mo, he’ll explain himself in due course), so Brendan’s offer is most welcome. Moreover, Overlander4x4 is a newly-formed company that needs our support, so please go and say hello whilst there.

That’s it. If possible I shall pop down for the day, but I really can’t justify 3 days and nights (most of the night!) standing about drinking and waffling about 4x4’s. After all, I have an event to run!

thats a shame to hear that you wont be there as there be no party caravan now or free tickets?

if not then theres no chance of a monstar coming over the hill as £70 for a ticket is stupid and i cant afford it
