Hi team intelmental,

I see you online very often, but never see a reply anymore.
Is there any chance we will meet again in the coming events?
Would like it very much: had some good times.
Maybe a trip to Holland next May?
Or even a meet and greet in January?

Hi, I check every now and again to see whats going on. I was having a look at your tracking during the rally which was interesting.

A couple months after last years rally I bought a Jeep wrangler and have done a few off road sites and green lanes... going to do keiran's treasure hunt in a couple weeks time(must remember to register now!), then neil sold the landy and also got a jeep.... but 30 years old! thats been fully restored now and we are going testing it this weekend.

check out some pics here of what we have been doing

We may make it to an event or two next year.... Maybe not the rally though... I dont have enough money to run a 4 litre engine 3000 miles!!!!

Gas it!!! Costs exactly the same to run this current 200 Tdi Rangie on diesel as it did with the 3.9 V8 on LPG. As you probably saw on the tracker, we're finding better routes every time we get into the Pyrenees. No excuses Neil, would love to see you on LR`11.

Sorry. Sod's law, two chances and I get the wrong one - story of my life. No

Torpedo tanks not possible? I had a couple on the Rangie and did some decent off-roading with them - nothing extreme you understand, but then again the RR was never meant to be an out 'n' out off-roader. Worse thing was speed humps, as the really vicious ones would sometimes catch the bands holding the tanks and slide them along towards the end. They never came off at any point, but a little disconcerting nevertheless.

In fact I did a rough calculation - if I was getting 18mpg on half price fuel, that was the equivilent of 36pmg, whereas now with the diesel I am doing around the 30mpg mark. Great in the UK, but the down side of LPG on Landy Rally is it runs out when you leave France. LPG (or GPL over there) hasn't reached Andorra or nothern Spain yet, so the two days in the Pyrenees has to be run on petrol. That's why I would carry additional jerricans for the cheap petrol in Andorra. Once that was used, the cans would remain virtually empty until Calais, when they would get topped up again as fuel was cheaper than the UK.

Every little helps!

no, only option is a replacement petrol tank / small petrol tank or one in the non-existant boot space.

The jeep was never going to be a cheap toy..... when we move somewhere with more parking the jeep will be lifted and make it less road friendly and it won't be used everyday as it is now

That has to be the shallowest river I've ever seen. Didn't exactly need a snorkel for that one. Now here's a REAL river crossing ...

Now this is how you do it …

Alternatively …

However, it doesn’t always work …
