| Well finally we’ve got round to introducing ourselves. We are Jez and Leanne and for the purposes of landy rally are team Jifflin Pollywiggles. Landy Rally 2011 will be our first rally although I’ve been grubbing around landies for about 18 years from series 2 through various v8 hybrids and 90’s and even a disco 3 which we took up snowdon. We look forward to the challenge of Landy Rally and the relaxed fun atmosphere that there seems to be. Our steed for the rally will be our TD5 Disco, Elsie, nicknamed after the Reg plate. Elsie was the most recent land rover to come into our ownership after a few years away from owning a landy. Having quenched my petrolhead thirst for classic cars (BMW e30, MK1 golf , Vw Vr6 Corrado) the mix of springer spaniel and leather seats prompted a return to the more practical Land Rover stable. Occasional green laning and off road trips with local clubs and groups ensure a constant list of improvements and repairs to ensure I’ve always got more to do than there’s time for. Already well used and kitted out for offroad use we intend to make the most use of Elsie’s abilities. Our team name reflects my Norfolk heritage, the girl comes from Wolverhampton. We will be raising sponsorship for the Samaritans and hope to have a website available soon. We look forward to meeting up to put names to faces before the actual rally and hope to make it to Convoy for heroes. Bye for now, Jez | |

| So, doesn't he like curries? One big official hello from me, welcome to the funny farm. Like the colour of your driver's seat BTW, the first of many tangerine accessories you'll find yourself purchasing - it's a disease! Not quite sure how you're going to fit in given that the pair of you look reasonably normal ... sane even! Then again, you have been into Landies for 18 years so you must be half-mad, that alone is qualification! Yeah, you'll fit in a treat. As you say, hopefully you can make it to CONVOY for HEROES where there will be at least five 2011 teams that I know of, probably more. In that case, see you soon. | |

| Hi welcome to the Landy Rally Club !
It would have been nice to meet you this weekend (we are on home territory) but will probably meet up with you at one of the shows if you go to them.
I'm sure you will enjoy the rally. Just dont expect to only be driving for a few hours a day as we cover nearly 3000 miles in 9 days and if you travel with the Teddies they are allergic to motorways ! We couldnt avoid all of them but we did have a lovely trip through the Camargue seeing some Flamingos on the way ! Even found an Orange gnome at the camp site the next morning !
I'm curious though Where do you get your team name from ?

| Okay the "tangerine" seat covers are home made from ex raf mk15 ejector seat liferafts. There will be more liferaft accessories, including a passenger seat cover. The team name comes from norfolk dialect for confused (jifflin) tadpoles (pollywiggles),k don't ask me why it just sounded right at the time. We are looking forward to the off piste routes rather than mindless motorway miles especially as they will keep the toll fees down. Look forward to meeting people as everyone sounds up for a laugh. It has been pointed out that maybe we look like farmers but we are not and just because i come from norfolk does not mean i'm inbred, its normal to have 6 toes isn't it? | |
