| I saw the Dirty Weekenders team in Braintree on wednesday morning! I flashed and waved but not sure if I was noticed. Look out for a 13t Kent Blaxill truck AY54 BMZ doing the rounds. Jay. | |

| Probably wondering what he did wrong! That's a point, am I the only one who finds himself waving at other Land Rover owners, only to realise that after thinking "Huh! bloody misery" that I'm actually driving a car or a van - not the Rangie! | |

| Tom, you aren't alone. Edna is still in the workshop so I have been roughing it in a 56 Honda Accord. Wave a plenty I do, only to find that a good swear off is the order of the day. The future wife just finds it funny. will they ever understand Tom? Jay | |

| I find myself waving at Landrovers and other 4 x 4's belonging to people I've met through the Land Rover but because I'm not in Lenny, they just seem to give you a blank look back. But then they are probably wondering who the crazy women in the red jag is ! | |

| DirtyWeekenders may go around waving at people in Landrovers from the various works vehicles we get allocated, we aren't saying. We don't leave our blindfolds on from the night before, though, so we would usually see and acknowledge other Landy drivers. :suspect: But we don't go around looking for people we have never met (unless you know different) flashing at us from a vehicle we know nothing about!! Jay, make sure you get to Arena Essex at Easter this year - ELRC will be hosting a full weekend of offroad events, from non-damaging TYRO (which doesn't stand for TipYourRoverOver) to Comp Safari. Family camping, and events for kids. Then you can introduce yourself to us (just ask for Derek, everyone knows him). Then maybe you'll get the Dirtyweekenders treatment you deserve! | |

| No chance of meeting this time as Easter is crammed this year and joining a club would be a novelty but i have a full time job, a business to run a 15 month old nearly step daughter to keep happy a fiancee to marry a landy to fiddle with and an album to record and tour. Now you know what vehicle you may see, providing im awake i may try again. | |

| Isn't waving meant to be a land rover to land rover thing? Not cross vehicle!
The whole point of a "clan" as it were is to have our own thing, we don't go around waving at whoever we want to that's pointless! And would also be a bit weird.
If you're in a vehicle that is not recognisable to people you know then you've missed out. Either travel in the same vehicle and be recognised or don't bother with it at all.
If I see anyone waving, I think they are saying thanks, if they're flashing I ignore them. | |

| Well im guessing thats me put in my place. When im out in the 90 i get loads of people waving. Im guessing its just me then? and just highlighting when i saw another rally member would be a novelty. I thought this was a bitching free site in the aid of charity? Wrong again?

| Obviously a case of cross wires ... I'm confused? Anyway, you've let the cat out of the bag now - "an album to record and tour". Wey hey, do we have another musician in our midst or are you behind the scenes on the technical side? I ask because we were treated to a lullaby or two on last year's Land Rally by our resident Scottish-type person Frank the McMad Jock. Just never ask him the under-the-kilt question, not a pretty sight, I think we'll all vouch for that! | |

| Just realised, you haven't heard about their Chevy. They reckon got it as it's easier for Sylvia to get in and out of with her bad back, although personally I don't see how as Keith (who's no midget at 6ft) has trouble himself. Perhaps the oversize tyres were a bad idea after all. They do love their Big Block V8's mind you, even got one in their little leisue craft they poodle around the Norfolk Broads in every year. Apparently the locals get a bit upset with the wash it creates, but it's not their fault that just on tickover it does 20 mph and the River Authority's speed limit is only 5 mph. Funny enough, they've yet to be caught! ... let's just say they are an 'interesting' family. | |
