| Hey folks,
This is an open invitation to a pub quize at my local in Twyford, near Reading on Thursday the 16th August at 1930
We shall be writing the quiz, and all funds rasied will be going to our charity. There will also be a raffle, and an auction, of which so far we have a signed Reading FC football shirt, signed by ther players of the team when they made it to the premier division. (think thats right, don't really do football!)
All welcome

| I'll be there ... if only to finally meet you! It's perfectly true, work does get in the way of play, that's why I don't bother with it any more.
That said, I'm twice as busy as I ever was when I did have a 'proper job', but as what I do is not real work, I'm also twice as happy (also twice as skint, but that's a side effect I can cope with). Date's in my diary.
P.S. Finally getting around to asking teams to sign your medical whatsits. They think it’s a cracking idea and fully appreciate the wording of the form. The intention is to have every one complete by Calais. Of course it won’t happen, but at least the majority will be in place with only a couple left by then for you to sort out quite literally at the eleventh hour - most appropriate given that we depart at noon!

Is that the thing you waved at me and then said "I haven't got one for you" in the beer tent on Friday? If you email me the document I can send it back with the camping cheque.

| Yes and no. It was the form I was talking about, no I can't email it as I can't find it (maybe I don't have an eletronic version???) Dunno. How about sending Steve of theshortwayround an email requesting one? medicalrescue@hotmail.co.uk His address is off his website so no problem displaying his address. Must have some good anti-spam filters! | |

| Excellent, be great to see you there Tom, will you be bringing orange clothing will you?!?
Andybloke, i have the document on my other computer, so let me have your e-mail address and i'll send you a copy to print and sign.
Tom. I Will put a post on later to explain a little more, and also to check if people need any kit from me etc. How many people havn't got the form? if it's a big number, i'll see if it can be added to my web page to be downloaded, although i'm note sure how easy that is!

| A lot of teams still to contact. A download on your website would be ideal. Only got the orange sweatshirts as Custom Vinyl didn't have time to produce the T-shirts. Wouldn't have sold any at Billing anyway. Wonder where i can buy orange oilskins? | |

| Hi there, I would like to say a big thank you to Steve and Jannet for an excellent night last night at the quiz . Team TV4x4 all had a very good time, and what a cracking pub. Draught Hobgoblin :face: , can't be bad. Surprisingly I woke with a clear head. If it was a for taste of things to come, then roll on more good times. Best of all a good wedge of dosh was raised for the Chilton & Thames Valley Air Ambulance. Many thanks. | |

| Really glad you enjoyed it - we also had a whale of a time, though sadly can't say the same about clear heads the morning after... Great to meet some of our fellow competitors and huge thanks to all for making such a magnificent effort to come along and play and, of course, raise money. Looking forward to opportunities for more meets before the main event, though time running out - only 4 weeks to go now | |

| Subject: RESULTS Thu Aug 23, 2007 6:23 am | |
| Hey folks, Thanks once again for all your support, the results from the Pub Quiz, are as follows - in a respectable 8th Place were the Team from TV4x4 with 90 points, one of our big supporters, Paul and Carly came 6th with 98 points, and Landy Rally and Friends Team, came 4th with 101 points. :king: The winning team only had 104 points, so it really was very very close. Those burning questionsi know you have - the last team had 39 points, and there were a total of 150 points available. That night, with the quiz, raffle and Auction, we rasied a total of £606 for theshortwayround charity - Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance. Thank you all once again. | |

| Excellent total - and a brilliant landlady you have there. Behind the scenes she contributed a lot in making sure the evening was a success. As for the quiz, just as well myself and Badger purposely dropped some points as the Organiser's can't be seen to win it ... well that's our excuse and boy are we sticking to it! | |
