For all those Internet savvy teams with web sites, I thought I would mention Just Giving. An Internet web site for fund-raising.

It only works with registered UK charities, but make it really easy to accept and track online donations. We especially like it because the money goes straight to the charity and we do not have to be responsible for accounting for it.

Here is a link to our fund-raising page with the Just Giving applet in place: http://laralive.org/sponsors.html

Or set up your own at http://justgiving.com/

Don't forget to tag your justgiving page with key words like: Landy Rally, Land Rover, your charity's name etc and then people can follow the links to other, related pages. :@:

I like using justgiving, especially for sponsorship from people who do not live locally or I do not see very often (although some people have sent cheques made out to the charity, which we've passed on). I emailed old school and uni friends and, well most people in my address book. I also emailed everybody at work (3770 emails!!) and got some sponsorship from people who I work with, but are not in my department. You can also keep track of what you have collected offline, which I find useful for a running tally. We only record money actually collected, not pledges. Our justgiving page is: www.justgiving.com/teamtnt Smile

I know they take a percentage, but it just works so well in some circumstances. Our charity (the British Stammering Association) wasn't on justgiving, but we discussed it for the rally and now they have about 6 people who have raised a lot of money for them on there. They've also linked us to their site: http://www.stammering.org/events_landyrally.html (ignore any mugshots!). Every bit helps! sunny
