Hey campers!

Are we likely to encounter very hard ground where we need those industrial strength tent pegs? If so, what would you recommend??

I was in Blacks a month or so ago and I saw some black, forged steel pegs, about 8mm in diameter and a big hook on the end. Excellent... Didnt buy any at the time, wish I had.

The site in Andorra was a bit like concrete with a bit of sand scattered on it.

A black+decker cordless hammer drill and expanding bolts.

Defo you will encounter seriously hard ground in places! The wise old leader did say he would inform people, but this is Tom we are talking about, he probably planned to tell you in Calais, which incidently is not hard ground at all!!
I would recommend "rock pegs" of some description and a flaming big hammer confused
