Since its launch about 18 months ago, 4x4Calendar - a website created by myself and Andybloke to provide free information about 4x4 & off-road events - has now had over 30,000 visitors with the site receiving almost 150,000 hits.
That's genuine visitors by the way, not some mythical figure plucked out of the air like some organisations do. Think that's pretty good seeing as though 4x4Calendar has had no advertising at all in magazines, and other than a few flyers distributed and stickers on my Rangie, it has simply been word of mouth via the internet and club scene.
Now I realise in the great scheme of things 30,000 is nothing in comparison to "You Tube" and suchlike, their visitor numbers are quite literally in the millions as it appeals to everyone and all walks of life, but in our little world that is still
thirty thousand individuals all wanting to go off-road or to a 4x4 show. Line 'em up and that's a hellava LOT of people!
I'm proud, and so should you be Andybloke. Thanks, couldn't have done it without you.
For those who still haven't logged on yet, it's www.4x4calendar.co.uk It's totally free to view and submit events to, the original 'resource website' if you like.
A big party when we reach 100,000? Any excuse!
