What a week! I have the new toy with an abundance of repairs and modifications to take on and my boss won't let me take time off to play with the car. (Not a landy owner) so it's all weekends go untill either I get fed up, injured or made single.

Tom, thankyou very much for the invite to the christmas doo but I will be enduring my works christmas party but if there are any other events or other LR drivers up for meeting up for a laning session or the odd tent pitching session in the new year then count me in.

I also have to modify my rear suspension setup to twin dampers because of my ....how do i say?..... Canteen?

I think Im done waffling now. If anyone wants to know about the 110 then just ask. It's my favourite subject at the moment.

Are you a member of Essex Land Rover Club yet? A good place to do regular off-road driving and get to know other Landy Drivers. Meetings once a month at various locations, and green-laning and pub meets are also organised.

You are welcome to go to an event just to see whether you like it or not, they are quite a friendly bunch.

(Un)fortunately, DirtyWeekenders won't be there for the next few meetings, as we will both be in Germany, but you are bound to meet some other members if you phone the organisers to get the address of the next meeting.

Maybe if you join, we can get some other members of the club interested for next year!

As it happens I was going to mention about Essex LRC, but I had a sneaky feeling the Dirties would fill you in with details - they didn't disappoint.

Roofrack, awning and decent tyres already I see. Nice colour as well. I would suggest that as your preparation continues, you post in the YOUR WHEELS section of the forum any questions, advice wanted, etc. about your new plaything, for there is a wealth of knowledge out there and I’m sure other teams will be only too happy to point you in the right direction. Mmm, the local authorities are still unaware of this very heavy load on soft soil. Mind you, you teached us to smuggle !!

Brian and Hazel . 300 tdi shiney disco , he used to compete in winch challenges with me so i know he knows the ropes , cable ect , still working on his teem name and photos to follow if i can figure out how to do that , ( tom help ) . cheers David

That'es great news, only that's not his "shiney disco" in the avater photo parked under your beast is it?

What do you need to know about photos - posting them on the forum? Andybloke or Marc will fill you in on that. I'm less than useless as I managed it once, then promptly forgot how to do it when trying again a couple of days later.

As for a team name, I'm good at advising with them. Brian, Hazel and youself need to get down the pub, have a good session, and hey presto ... instant team name. Simples!

hi new to this im only 15 me mum and dad brought me a 90 which we have done up and is being used in shows next year i am thinking of doing the landy rally in 2010 i should be able to get a couple of mates to form a team but was wondering if its wise to let my dad drive the whole way i mean on roads and then i jump in offroad... cheers chris

Hi Chris and welcome aboard

The people you need to talk to are Kieran (Firestarter) and Kieth (DitchDiver). They had similar thoughts before the 1st Lnady Rally but Kieran was a couple of years older and Kieth basically drove the whole way.

You do need to be careful as many "driving laws" apply off-road....as much of the route will be public "roads" rather than closed events.
