Disco for LR2008 Empty
PostSubject: Disco for LR2008   Disco for LR2008 Icon_minitimeFri Jan 04, 2008 8:37 am

Hey! Looks like I might actually be getting a Landy for the 2008 rally.

Going to look at a J reg Disco 200Tdi tomorrow - no mods or extras, 174k miles, 1 owner, full LR dealer history. Good price, from a garage that took it PX and now don't know what to do with it Smile

Any tips on what to look for other than water/oil leaks and rust? I've never really spent time with Disco's.

Apparently the engine sounds good, and the gears are fine (but will be test-driving it).

these are the main things we looked for, rust on sills/bootfloor, and listened for a gear box whine

good luck

Yes, definately lift carpet back and look at bootfloor, check sills - and also check above back door for rust.

i know of another one for sale which seams pretty good to me if that one goes, but as for what to look for, also check the inner wings around the front turrets, and the rear cross member, if possible, feel up above the gear/trasfer boxes to see what the floor is like above, as this is where the front seatbelts mount and is an MOT testers fav place to have a dig
