| Hi there, Thames Valley 4x4 Club are having a Recovery Training Day on the above date. I don't know how many of you have hands on experince of recoveries but even if you don't have a winch fitted to your LR you still need to know you are being recovered safely. The day will consist of an introduction to the equipment, hands on experience of the equipment and then you will be invited to explore the delights of TV4x4's home site Oxley's Shaw and maybe use your new found skills. We normally have a burger van but as this is not normal TV4x4 day you will have to bring your own sarnies. The kettle will be on but if you have your own cup then so much the better. The cost will be £20:00/£25:00 it all depends on how many turn up. There maybe camping to be had for those of you who have to travel I will have to speak to the farmer tommorrow but he has never said no so far. For more details look at our web-site or call 07773125745. I have just spoken to the farmer and he is happy for those of you who have to travel to camp. There is running cold water and the Club trailer will be there with a flushing loo.

| Am looking for training opportunities up North.
Got to winch a BMW out of a ditch on the way home from Manby show, which was good practice.
Just used the Hi-Lift jack for the first time and nearly knocked my teeth out when lowering. Too much grease me thinks.
Recovering a fellow driver is a risky business for the inexperienced.

| Hi bj, yes it can be a dodgy bussiness when the inexperienced use powerful equipment. Even the humble hi-lift can cause an injury. If you had been trained then your teeth would of not have been at risk. Nothing like spoiling a good day out when it ends up in casualty. This why we have these occaisional training days. Safety is very important to TV4x4. We have a number of First Aiders in the club, including yours truly, so far the first aid box has not been troubled. Anyway, this could be another good opertunity for us Landy Rally guys for a get together. I can guaranttee you all a good time | |

| Agree some of this stuff can be really dangerous, and the last thing we want is anyone injured, apart from anything else it means more work for me!!
Sadly i'll not be able to come to the training day as i'm playing with the rally cars in Wales for the 2007 Baja Series Rally.
Hope you all have fun though.
