While looking for something spares related on the intarweb a couple of weeks ago, I came across this UNpacking list from Landy Rally 2007. Dans injection of New Bood into the forum has prompted me to mention it...

http://laralive.org/UnpackingList.pdf

Yes ... that's our 2007 team website, and no, I never knew that file was there. Nowt to do with me, guv.

Basically, after the rally, Bernard dropped me off at home, I took out my rucksack and tool bag, and I didn't see him for a week, so he unpacked the landy and made this list.

Helpfully, it shows what we actually found we needed on the event!

We didn't need any of the spare parts, except screenwash, but had we known, would have replaced a relay.

Maybe it'll be helpful for other teams?

We had loads of things that we took with us, Some used some not, but I dont ever remember a pet octopus !! (maybe the Butler looked after him)

We carted table and chairs around with us along with barbecue on 07 but hardly used chairs and not the barbecue at all.
In fact the gas ring was used for coffee in the morning, sausage sarnies at Aosta and bacon sarnies at val d'isere 2008 and the chairs only came out of the landy to put something else away !!

Will we need them in the forest ? (must put midge spray on my list).

My co-driver Rafe and myself only used our two-ring gas burner once on LR`07 and that was only because we went to a supermarket at Poitiers (mid-west France) and found a couple of thick, juicy steaks. Deciding we'd have a go and actually cook for a change, I can honestly say it was the best steak I've ever EVER had. Like all memorable meals, it was obviously the company and surroundings, but it was a particularly gorgeous steak ... not to mention the bottle of red we had been saving all journey for such an occasion!

Mmmmmmmmmmmm - heaven!!!!! cheers

Probably, technically, not .... I think we both ended up carrying toothbrushes, toothpaste and soap gel in pockets the whole time during the rally incase the wash block was between the bar and the tent and we wanted to save a trip Smile

As for the octopus, that lived on the roofrack, but the squid was in the back the whole way. (A toy, stolen from a work friend many years ago, has now amassed many many many thousand miles travel).
