Manby LR Show - Anybody going?

Well pretty much as per the subject...

Apart from Tom and me (assuming we get out motors fixed!!!), does anyone else plan on going to Manby? Its supposed to be a good show - 29th June - 1st July.

I believe BJ and I are going. If it's not too hot we may even wear the hi-vis Landy Rally sweatshirts!

Cool. Pop in and say hi. I dont know what our stand number is yet though...

the date july 1st makes me get butterflys its the half marathon

just been looking on google map and am contemplating going for it?not worried about the drive its 242 miles from selsey approx 6hrs in the old batilac just thinking about money,dose anyone know how much entry fee is?

£35 (£50 on the gate) camping, parking, entry.
£7/£20 (£10/£30) offroad day/weekend pass.

We can't go for the whole weekend, so we're hoping to drive over for the day. We've been trying to find out about day ticket prices, but they're not on the form. It says something about £6 on the website, but I'm not sure if that's just in advance. Confused!?! Any ideas?

I got a reply from the Manby show organisers. It is £6 per day ticket, children get in free. Just pay on the day, not in advance.

More good news, Fred will be there with his monster (don't get excited Lu, I'm talking about his truck, not his ...) which if you have not seen it before is a real head-turner. Maybe I am talking about his ...

Newly-painted, will have to start calling it the Orangemobile! Custom Graphics will be applying it's new Landy Rally livery over the weekend, so fingers crossed it should look a million dollars. He will be there on Friday, so by all means introduce yourselves should you turn up early. Just look for an orange Series I on steroids towing a mobile gin palace, that’ll be Fred.

Looking forward to seeing you’all, especially those I haven’t met before. Should be a cracking beer tent.

Looks like it's going to be a wet one!

My parents place, a few miles away, flooded on Monday, and apparently there's still a lot of water about. Show website updated on Tuesday says the site is drying out, but Met Office have severe weather warnings up for the area on Saturday/Sunday.

Weather forecast's getting better!
Hopefully we'll be setting off from Leeds at about 5, to be there for 8 tonight.

Course looks fun. Tom's been over to steal beer and try sticking stickers on things already. He's even left his digital camera here to recharge ... the one with all the photos from his recent trip to the continent

It was great to meet some other Landy Ralliers today at Manby. We've not been home long, it's quite a trek (although nothing compared to September!). We managed to get some auto jumble bits to replace broken parts like sunvisors, new door mechanism and handle etc., but not too much off our wish list! Fred was great going forwards and backwards easily through the mud run in 'Tango 1' - our (now bright orange) recovery / support vehicle for the Rally, when most people were getting stuck!

Not got my shifts for billing yet, but keeping my fingers cross one or both of us will be able to make it!

Well, a good fun weekend. Lots of rain, lots of beer, lots of mud, lots of Landy Rally stickers!

On the way back, we came across a BMW that had spun off of the coast road and ended up stuck in a ditch so got to have a play with the winch. Both BMW and occupants were fine, but we upset lots of traffic by blocking the road...

Will post photos at some point during the week.

Thanks Lu. The good news is that the rain sort of cleared... But then late on Sunday afternoon the wind got up and decided our tent wanted a new address, so she huffed and she puffed and blew the house down! Arse!

Still we had a nice few beers and a laugh when we got home!

Nah, cant of been mine, it blew away from the runway! Still, good to know mine wasnt the only one! Naturally Im sorry for whoever owned that one though.

We were heading up the back of the runway stands to find the Dastek guy when we were cut up by a white marquee. Probably still Sunday morning at that point, though.

Oh dear - Marquee kite flying! Our friend's tent blew down, whilst we were all camping on the top of a cliff in Abersoch last year. So Tweedie tied our tent to the Defender and it stood proud all week! Landies have lots of uses!
