Here are the maps required this year:-

France 2009: A4 Spiralbound Road Atlas 1098-XA
Series: Michelin Atlases
Format: Spiral Bound, 395mm high x 280mm wide, 259 pages, scale 1:200 000
ISBN: 978-2-06-714119-3
Date: 2009
Cost: £13.99

Or the ‘dumpy but thicker’ version -

France 2009: A4 Spiralbound Road Atlas 20197-XA
Series: Michelin Atlases
Format: Spiral Bound, 290 high x 220mm wide, 453 pages, scale 1:200 000
ISBN: 978-2-06-714121-6
Date: 2009
Cost: £12.99

Although exactly the same content, personally I prefer the larger format. Okay, being big it may be more unwieldy and cumbersome but with it you can see at a glance whereabouts you're heading. With smaller pages you're forever turning pages trying to find your next destination, a real pain.

National Map 716: Belgium & Luxembourg
Series: Michelin National Maps
Format: Folded Map, Scale 1:350 000
ISBN: 978-2-06-714206-0
Date: 2009
Cost: £4.99

National Map 729: Switzerland
Series: Michelin National Maps
Format: Folded Map, Scale 1:400 000
ISBN: 978-2-06-714213-8
Date: 2009
Cost: £4.99

Regional Map 561: Italie Nord-Ovest
Series: Michelin Regional Maps
Format: Folded Map, Scale 1:400 000
ISBN: 978-2-06-713308-2
Date: No date listed
Cost: £4.99

Regional Map 574: Catalüna, Aragón, Andorra
Series: Michelin Regional Maps
Format: Folded Map, 1:400 000
ISBN: 978-2-06-100903-1
Date: No date listed
Cost: £4.99

Total at WH Smith for instance is £33.95, slightly more at Waterstones. Andybloke found a set of maps before even cheaper if I recall (even with P&P) - is that still the case mate?

Result, nice one.

For those of you who have maps from 2007, these are perfectly adequate for this year.

What about 2008 maps ?

I think I need a new French atlas though as mine was an extra large one last year and got a bit shredded due to nagging driver and shortage of space !!! (I had given Kieran the A4 one from 2007)

Ooops borrowed Mr Ditch Diver's computer and login !

Have to say still the same situation exists with French road numbers. Compiling the Road Book at present and still the road signs in June and the map (2009 version) don't match up - plus the milestones, recent ones not antiquated stone jobbies, have yet another number. MAD!!!

I know we always get by somehow, but still the situation is ludicrous. scratch

I received a box of maps this morning ... must say, it made things seem much more real and urgent!
