| Nice one, what an improvement that'll be. You retaining the old gearbox? Know nothing about a Tdi into a Series - will it slot straight in? | |

| I'm afraid it is not just a straight swap. I don't think series g-box is upto tdi performance. Besides all the engine conversions, will the brakes be upto it as well. I just hope my fears urge you to say "sod you, we'll show him" Best of luck. | |

| Thanks for the word of warning, but it wont be the first one we've done, it's already been reworked to take a 2.5 N/A so the mount points are acceptable, problem areas are the exhaust and the bellhousing, just ned to tap in a new one on the engine side. It's a recon box (less than a month old) so should last 2300 miles hopefully Thats done it now kiss of death, shouldn't of said it was that easy should I... | |

| Hi All, The next episode in the Dorset 4x4 saga, Recap; Buy Disco for engine swop Thats where I left you, however it's good news we've picked up a C reg 110 station wagon for a good price. We're going to drop the 200TDI in give it a bloody good going over etc, be a lot easier that working it into the Series, still some issues but nothing that can't be overcome. Engines out of both now, should be running by the early half of next week. Going to strip the interor completly as it stinks, got rusty door bottoms, needs bushing etc etc but nothing that should cause any major upset. ps its MOT'd and Taxed so could have gone as is but it would have been very slow and very smelly. Hurra for credit cards | |

| That sounds a much better prospect, at least the transmission was built to take it and you have permanent 4 wheel drive. Still wishing you the best of luck. | |

| Have you seen Fred's baby? Tango 1 is nice little machine, quite capable of dragging the 110 around Europe. No, you'll be okay under your own steam by the sound of it. You lot must have been working your nuts off getting the Landy together for next week. It sure is a great feeling when you're over the worst, and believe me I know that feeling all too well. GOOD EFFORT! | |
