| Hi all,
We have been offroading for many years now. We saw the landy rally on our club forum(bristol and west offroad club).
We have checked the mrs would let us go, surprisingly they all said yes. Woo Hoo looks like we're going.
Is there anything that need to know or be prepaired for on this sort of adventure. We are taking a 1995 300tdi 90.
Thanks Mark | |

| Hi, welcome to the party. All you need is a bit of a sense of adventure and a desire to see if you and your vehicle can do 2800 miles in 9 days. It is a long way so a lot of time behind the wheel. Hopefully no time on your back underneath it. Great way to meet a good bunch of people who share the challlenge rather than compete with each other.
All I can say is I had never done anything like this before our first entry - we have now done it three times and are looking forward to the fourth ....

| Back to the subject in question, Welcome to the party. If you've got a sense of adventure and enjoy the company of others then you will enjoy Landy Rally ! You are leaving the Mrs' behind ??. Is it not their sort of thing ?
Which part of the country are you from ? (sorry you said Bristol )

- make an item in the site
Yeah, yeah, yeah.... I'll learn how to use some arty thing and make a button for it. Even when information is on the website, people apparently don't believe it - lots of emails asking if there are places, despite things like "There are still places available on Landy Rally 2010! Occupy one by filling in the form below!", "Before emailing questions, please see the Frequently Asked Questions section" and "Are there still places available on Landy Rally 2010? Yes. At the moment there are still places available."

| hi all,
we are from bristol, and will be driving a landy 90 with 3 of in it.
we are most definatly living the wives at home and making this a man week only.
we do like having a laugh and taking the p**s out of others oh and yes we are use to people doing it to us.
is this event usually done as a serious sponsered charity event or the trip and if we raise money all the better. we are looking to try and raise some money for teenage cancer trust in bristol.

| Probably not. Last year we had a Toyota, and some Jeeps plus an assortment of Land Rovers - 90's, series 2, Disco 1, 2 and 3 Range Rover Classics, The dutch Barge I think that was a 130 plus an Ibex and an Overfinch. The previous year we had some Pajeros join us. If my son decides to go he will be in a Frontera. No doubt there will be a selection of non ladies this year as well.
Welcome on board and hope you enjoy the rally

| Welcome to Team Brizzle ... or whatever daft name you come up with after a session down the local! A daft team name is essential, as are a selection of horns, buttons and bells on the Landy. Well, it would be rude not to! When you do think of a name I suggest you post it within the TEAMS & CREWS category on this forum, that way you'll have your very own 'team section'. So, sounds as if you're up for it, that's exactly the right attitude. Ladies more than welcome of course, but nothing wrong with a 'lads outing' either. Besides, what woman in their right mind would want to accompany three blokes confined to a metal box on wheels for 9 days. Oh the sweaty feet and BO (that's body odour for our Dutch readers) ... nice! Talking of which, here's a good tip that Wayne, Lee (aka Captain Chaos) and myself implemented on a banger rally a few years ago. Driving down to Barcelona in a Lada Riva saloon it soon became apparent that one of us was getting a tad pongy around the armpit region. Solution? When an offending odour would surface one of us would shout, "TEAM SPRAY!" and every one of us would spray our 'pits with deodorant, that way nobody could become embarrassed. Clever eh? I tell you, it worked a treat. Shame the side effect was our very own hole in the ozone layer directly above us, but hey, our noses were okay so it wasn't all bad. | |

| AAHH TEAM SPRAY, the memories come flooding back, more days than normal confinement this year so DOUBLE team spray required | |
