While racing a Landy my mate had a branch punch its way through the steel floor right up into his calf muscle. Not good, bit of a mess in fact. His leg survived more or less intact but it took a hellava long time to heal. Granted the floor is not very thick on a standard vehicle, but then again they don't nomally travel at 70 mph over rough terrain! Needless to say that ever since he always strengthens the floor pans of racers he builds - problem solved.
Hardly surprising then that tyres get shredded; you got away lightly there Kieran.
